Gamethread #2: New Jersey Devils vs. Washington Capitals

Technically, the game in Sweden was a home game. But it was in Sweden and not in the Garden State. Therefore, tonight is the real home opener for the team that matters.

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (1-0-0) vs. the Washington Capitals (1-0-1; SBN Blog: Japers’ Rink)

The Time: 7:00 PM ET

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Digital Audio - Something called Devils Hockey Network. Just go to Radio.com, according to this announcement by Entercom (WFAN’s parent company).

The Song for the Night: The Devils will start a homestand against some difficult opponents. Since they are back in New Jersey, the song should be by a group from New Jersey. One of the more recent and impressive bands to come out of the NJ scene is Blind Justice. They represent Shore Style. Take three guesses what part of the state they’re representing. Their second album, No Matter the Cost, is a great, short, punchy listen. Among others, I like this song from that album is “Never Enough.”

The Rules: The rules remain the rules even when the game is back in Newark and you’re jamming to a band from the shore.
