The Devils gained one point out of the back-to-back set this weekend. That point came out of a 4-3 overtime loss to the Sabres on Friday. We will not speak of the third-period go-ahead goal Taylor Hall appeared to have scored that was overturned because [500 question marks here]. [Fire and Ice] [NJ.com]

The Devils then followed that with a 5-2 loss to the Capitals on Saturday, which vaulted Washington to the top of the Metro. [Fire and Ice] [NJ.com]

Over the weekend the Devils traded defenseman Dalton Prout to the Flames for goaltender Eddie Lack. Lou and the Leafs were in Las Vegas over the weekend. Noting Vegas’s impressive home record, Lou kept his team away from downtown Vegas prior to Sunday afternoon’s game. [Sportsnet]

Gary Bettman (BOOOOOOO) is confident the NHL will never bring three-on-three overtime to the playoffs. This seems like a … wise opinion. [Sportsnet]
