Binghamton gained a right winger recently as Chris Calnan was signed to a one-year, two way deal on behalf of the Binghamton Devils it was announced on Tuesday.
The 6’ 2”, 23 year-old native out of Norwell, MA appeared to be a big deal in his collegiate times for Boston University despite his injuries that further lead to hampering his progress.
Despite such injuries that included labrum surgery in April of last year, and had two screws put into his ankle in July, Calnan, the former Chicago Blackhawks’ prospect had this to say during his time for Boston College ;
“I think every guy looks up to me on the team. You have to get their respect. You have to bring energy every day. Do the right things off the ice and on the ice, so everybody can see it and hold yourself with high character.” ~ The Athletic 2/08/2017
Calnan, a former third round pick in 2012 by the Chicago Blackhawks and 79th overall, will add some much needed depth on the forward line sequence, with so many questions that remains once New Jersey opens camp, as well as in Binghamton, and where player prospects will end up.
I’ll remain optimistic and I’m sure a few more PTO’s will be added to round out the team.
