The time is drawing near for the home opener, as anticipation is at an all time high for the upcoming BDevils’ 2017-’18 season

With the recent tragedy that has taken place in Las Vegas, we collectively here @AATJ have not forgotten what has transpired out West of the New Jersey/Binghamton region. We are still trying to cope, like others, on what has been a shocking, yet very disturbing event. God bless those that were affected and their families involved.

Player Movements

We start off with player movements as of this past Monday, Binghamton assigned four rookies to the ECHL affiliate in Glens Falls, NY. Defensemen Tim Boyle & Desmond Bergin, along with forwards Pierre-Luc Mercier & Tim Harrison as they will start the season playing for the Adirondack Thunder.

New Jersey made quite a few moves themselves on Tuesday, as they assigned forwards Joe Blandisi, Nick Lappin and John Quenneville and defenseman Brian Straight to Binghamton. Veteran forward Brian Gibbons was also among the list but was soon recalled after Brian Boyle wasn’t cleared to play and is currently on the IR for New Jersey.

This is great news for Binghamton with the additions as fans are excited to see them along with all the players on the club. The current line-up reads;

Media Day

Tuesday was meet the players day at The Floyd as the local media did their thing while getting to know the new players in town. Here are a few to mentions;

And finally this from @TylerFeldman12 @WBNG12 digging hard for results in this gem;

Good stuff indeed!

On a side note, I got word that the players are getting quite comfortable in their new surroundings from a source that chatted with “6-10 guys” with positive vibes, as they quote “.. love it here. Like love it. And here everyone is like, WELCOME”, and that “Binghamton is way nicer than I thought it’d be!” Good words to lean towards without any pessimism in thoughts lingering like in the past. And of course, I wouldn’t expect anything less, but it’s still good to hear regardless.

Official Opener This Saturday

With the inaugural Binghamton Devils in sight just a few days away, I asked the fans on what they felt coming in once the puck drops on the 2017-’18 season this Saturday night. Here is their responses via twitter;

All is set for the home opener, or you could call it, ‘inaugural opener’. Either way, I’m really excited and I know the Binghamton faithful is as well just by talking with them. This will have a different feel to it at the start, with the whole BSens hoopla in the past, but this just feels right. Come along for the journey into the new frontier!

See you on Saturday!
