As of this afternoon, the Devils have signed LW Reid Boucher on a one-year, two-way contact for $715,000. With the deal, New Jersey has taken care of their last remaining free agent of this summer.
Up and Down
The 22-year old forward has split his time for the past three seasons between professional stints with the Devils and time spent in the AHL with the Albany Devils.
Last season, Boucher put up 8 goals and 11 assists in 39 NHL games for a total of 19 points. He also scored 19 goals and 13 assists in 34 games with the Albany Devils.
Your Take
For a more thorough take on where and how Boucher fits into next season’s lineup, please see Gerard’s in-depth analysis from last week. I personally agree with Gerard in that his spot on the roster is his to lose, but it’s also his to secure moving forward.
What’s your take? Were you impressed with his performances last season? Do you think this year he can start producing more significant numbers at the NHL level?
