Sislo and Helgeson are joining the team on their upcoming west coast trip, in place of the recently injured players F Jacob Josefson and D David Warsofsky. The team will start their road trip in San Jose on Thursday, March 10th and will also face the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks before returning home. Warsofsky will still be traveling with the team as he is expected to play at some point during the trip, according to Tom Gulitti.
Because these are emergency call-ups, they will not count against the post-trade deadline limit of 4 call-ups.
Hey Now, You're an AHL Star
Devils fans will be pleased to see Sislo is having an excellent season in the AHL. In 54 games played, he's averaging nearly a point-per-game with 27 G and 25 A (52 points). He is a +16 overall, with 18 PIM.
In 28 NHL games, he has one assist and is a -2.
Your Take
While injuries are always detrimental to the team, this will give Sislo and Helgeson some more NHL ice time. What's your take on the emergency call-ups? Do you think they'll make a splash on this west coast trip?
