The NHL has announced the full rosters for the 2016 All-Star Game, taking place in Nashville on January 30th/31st. Cory Schneider will represent the New Jersey Devils in net for the Metropolitan Division, along with Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals. It will be Schneider's first appearance at an All-Star Game.

How do his numbers compare?

In the Metropolitan Division, Schneider is...

  • 3rd in Wins (17)
  • 4th in SV% (.927)
  • 2nd in GAA (2.06)
  • T-1st in Shutouts (3)
  • 1st in Games Played (34)
Those are some impressive numbers, especially when you consider the levels of depth some of the other teams in the division have compared to this year's Devils lineup.

My Take / Your Take

I don't think anyone's in a position to challenge the selection of Braden Holtby with the numbers he's putting up (25-4-2, .932 SV%, 1.93 GAA). But most importantly, I'm excited to see Cory Schneider recognized in the way he deserves. He's been a core piece of the Devils' competitive push this season, and the rest of the league is starting to take notice.

What's your take on this year's all-star rosters? Feel like any other Devils players were worthy of recognition? What about Schneider taking a spot over some other goalies nearby in the Metropolitan area? How about Jagr, who's still making it to the All-Star Game just two weeks before he turns 44?
