Well, we've had #Kovalgate, so we might as well have #Scottgate, because why not? Remember how fans voted John Scott into the NHL All-Star Game? On Friday the Coyotes traded the enforcer to the Canadiens, where he was sent to the AHL, thus making him ineligible for the game. Seems strange, doesn't it? [Cross Checks]

Hmmm:

While this feels a little tempest-in-a-teapot-y, it does suck for Scott, who didn't do anything wrong here if he was, in fact, traded because he refused to bow out.

The Kings have signed Anze Kopitar to a big ‘ol $80 million contract extension. I would imagine Steven Stamkos's agent is probably rather happy about this development. [Puck Daddy]

The Oilers have signed goaltender Cam Talbot to a three-year, $12.5 million deal. [Puck Daddy]

After the Blackhawks waived Bryan Bickell and sent him to the AHL, the forward's agent is looking for a trade. [PHT]
