Ruutu has missed a large part of this season, starting back in October when he fractured his right foot blocking a shot from Brent Burns of San Jose and missed 27 games. He has 9 shots and 4 PIM in his 9 games with the Devils this season.
Paul Thompson put up 3 shots on goal and 2 PIM in three games with the Devils, his first professional games of his NHL career. Thompson played under Devils' coach John Hynes back in 2011 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the AHL and signed a contract with New Jersey back in 2014.
