Preseason Gamethread #6: New Jersey Devils at Philadelphia Flyers

Tonight is the penultimate - next-to-last - preseason game for the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. Users of the site can discuss the game as it happens up until the recap is up in this post.

The Time: 7:00 PM EDT

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (1-4-0) at the Philadelphia Flyers (3-1-1; SBN Blog: Broad Street Hockey)

The Previews: My preview from this morning is right here. For the opposition side, Travis Hughes has this preview at Broad Street Hockey claiming that the Devils are bad and boring. Bad, sure. Boring? Oh, Travis

A Song for Tonight: From the Fatback Band's Raising Hell, this is "Spanish Hustle." It's over five minutes of 70s funk. Get a groove on, preseason's almost over.

Gameday Info: Tom Gulitti at Fire & Ice has the lineup for tonight's game. Mike Cammalleri is kept out after a day off, Tyler Kennedy has a personal issue, Marc-Andre Gragnani is dealing with a hip flexor, and Patrik Elias is still out with his knee injury. Additionally, Jordin Tootoo and Andy Greene are not playing. Keith Kinkaid will get the start, David Schlemko will make his preseason debut, and the other bubble players (Reid Boucher, Stefan Matteau, Lee Stempniak, Seth Helgeson, Pavel Zacha, Sergey Kalinin) are active. Randy Miller - who is not Rich Chere - has the Flyers lineup at NJ.com. It's a fairly strong lineup with a legitimately scary first line in Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek, and Braden Schenn.

The Reminder of Rules: The site's name has changed, but the rules haven't. Please keep your comments clean, legal, and all about the game itself. Other scores are OK, but let's make sure the comments here are primarily about the Devils and this game. Also, let's respect each other, there's no need for drama of any sort. Thank you for reading and commenting. Go Devils!
