The Devils picked up their first victory of the preseason tonight against the New York Islanders. As I have previously mentioned, there was no video feed of the game so those of us who were not able to attend the game in person were stuck to the WFAN internet radio feed, as well as some live posts, such as Tom Gulitti's Fire and Ice post.
Its hard to provide any insight or reaction to a game I wasn't able to watch but the score sheet provides some promising information. The Devils got goals from Mike Cammalleri, John Moore, Reid Boucher and Joseph Blandisi. The first name on the list is expected, as Cammy lead the team in goals last year, but the next three names are encouraging signs.
Blandisi's goal was an unassisted shorty, Lee Stepniak assisted on John Moore's marker, Cammalleri was set up by Stephen Giont and Blake Pietila, and Reid Boucher's insurance goal was off of a good feed from Sergey Kalinin with the secondary assist going to Jordan Tootoo.
Again, tough to form any opinions, but its a good sign for Devils fans to see the names of Boucher, Blandisi and Kalinin on the score sheet. Sorry for the short recap, but its the best I can do without seeing the game.
