Since today is the first preseason game for the New Jersey Devils, we must have a gamethread.

The Time: 7:00 PM EDT

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+ (in NY/NJ Area), NHL Network (Elsewhere)

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils at the Boston Bruins (SBN Blog: Stanley Cup of Chowder) in Providence, Rhode Island.

The Preview: My preview from this morning is right here.

A Song for Tonight: It's the first track on their album, it sounds like it begins with some warming up, and so it's suitable for preseason. This is the title track from the Don Caballero album, For Respect.

Gameday Info: Tom Gulitti at Fire & Ice has more details on tonight's lineup, including line combinations and defensive pairings from this morning's skate. These should be what the Devils at least start tonight's game with. John Quenneville gets to be on a "top" line with Adam Henrique and Kyle Palmieri; Pavel Zacha gets to skate with Lee Stempniak and Tuomo Ruutu; Sergey Kalinin will play with Jacob Josefson and Paul Thompson; and Joseph Blandisi gets Matt Lorito and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond. Gulitti also had the expected lines for the Bruins too, which appears to be closer to a Providence lineup than a Boston lineup. Such as it is in preseason.

The Reminder of Rules: The site's name has changed, but the rules haven't. Please keep your comments clean, legal, and all about the game itself. Other scores are OK, but let's make sure the comments here are primarily about the Devils and this game. Also, let's respect each other, there's no need for drama of any sort. Thank you for reading and commenting. Go Devils!
