Ray Shero named Devils general manager; Lou Lamoriello remains team president

Big changes for the New Jersey Devils.

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

Shocking news from the New Jersey Devils on Monday afternoon: they've named former Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Ray Shero the fourth GM in Devils franchise history. Lou Lamoriello has held that post since 1987, and he's taking a step back, although he'll remain in charge as team president.

Lamoriello said that Shero will be the one who makes the decision on the new head coach of the Devils.

ILWT will have much more analysis of this shortly. In the meantime, discuss the news here.
