Devils take down the Islanders 3-2
Todays matinee at the Rock began the Devils second winning streak of the season. NJ has now secured a point in seven of their last eight games (6-1-1) for a total of 13 points. It was a day of firsts for the Devils as, John Moore scored his first point and goal as a Devil, Stephan Gionta notched his first point of the season and Bobby Farnham played in his first game of the 2015-16 season and his first game in Devil's red. Farnham also scored his first NHL career point, assist, and goal today. While the first 20 minutes looked good for NJ, the last two periods came down to the dominance of Cory Schneider in net. Schneider who made his 8th start in as many games, kept the Devils in the game long enough for Josefson (2nd round) and Cammalleri (4th round) to convert on their OT shootout chances. Jersey's Team closes out the first month of the season 6-4-1, which is above many preseason expectations. The puck drops next Tuesday night in Brooklyn, as the Devils square off against an Islanders team seeking quick revenge.
