This post will recap the seventeenth week of Devils prospect action for the 2014-15 season. It's highlighted by Joseph Blandisi continuing to produce in the OHL, John Quenneville staying hot in the WHL, the two Blakes having strong weekends in college action, and the Albany Devils earning points thanks to a variety of players. Check out the stats and recap below!

Ryan Kujawinski had a bit of a slow week with just one assist over three games for North Bay. Connor Chatham also had a slow week as he was held off the scoresheet in two games for Plymouth. Joseph Blandisi continued to produce for Barrie with two goals and an assist over three games.

John Quenneville had a productive week with three assists over two games for Brandon. He now has two goals and four assists over his last six games so hopefully this is a sign of him turning his season around. Ryan Rehill had one goal over three games for Kamloops but made it count as it was the overtime winner in Friday's game against Victoria. It's also notable that he hasn't committed a penalty in nine games. Brandon Baddock had a tough week going a -4 with six penalty minutes over three games for Edmonton.

Anthony Brodeur picked up a shutout against his former Gatineau club on Friday. He followed that up by giving up four goals against Halifax on Sunday.

Blake Coleman had a successful weekend against Denver as he picked up a goal and two assists in Saturday's game. The goal was an empty netter but was his first in eight games. He currently ranks fourth in the nation in faceoff percentage at 65.29%.

Blake Pietila continued to produce for Michigan Tech with two goals and an assist over two games against Alaska. His goal on Friday was even the overtime winner. He now has four goals and two assists over his last four games.

Steve Santini played twice for Boston College over the week, ending up an even rating with three shots and four penalty minutes between both games. Joshua Jacobs had an assist to go along with a +2 rating, four shots, two penalty minutes, and six blocks in Michigan States weekend sweep over Ohio State. He currently leads all drafted freshman defensemen in blocked shots and blocked shots per game.

Alexander Kerfoot remains out of Harvard's line up due to an "upper body" injury.

Myles Bell was a -1 with 6 shots in 3 games for Evansville but as John pointed out in last week's comments, Bell won the ECHL All-Star game MVP after notching 2 goals and and assist with 7 shots against the host Orlando. Perhaps he can use this to jump start his season which has been disappointing after a hot start.

Eric Baier was a -2 with 5 shots in 2 games for Orlando this past week. He picked up an assist to go along with 2 shots in the All-Star game as he played for Orlando.

Prospect of the Week

This week's honors go to John Quenneville. He added 4 assists in 3 games and now has 2 goals and 4 assists over his last 6 games. It also appears that he has shifted back to playing center from left wing according to the WHL From Above blog. Ideally he'd finish the season above a point per game so hopefully this is the start of him having a monster second half.

ADevil of the Week

This week's honors go to Kelly Zajac as he is finally healthy and in form for Albany. After a successful 2013-14 season with 44 points in 67 games, it's been a rough follow up campaign for the center in 2014-15. He missed November and December due to injury and then had to take some time to start producing once he was healthy. This past week was more like the Kelly Zajac from last year as he had 4 assists in 3 games. Hopefully he can keep producing in the second half.

Prospects on TV

-- Dinamo Minsk (Artur Gavrus) take on Metallurg MG at 9 AM ET on One World Sports on 1/28.

-- Some Beanpot action if you get NESN. First, Harvard (Alexander Kerfoot, if healthy) take on Boston University at 5 PM ET on 2/2. Followed by Boston College (Steve Santini) against Northeastern at 8 PM ET.

Your Take

Do you think Quenneville is turning his season around? What do you think of Albany rotating all three goaltenders? What do you expect out of Kelly Zajac in the second half of the season? What players are standing out to you for good or bad reasons? Leave your comments below and thank you for reading!
