FanPost

Greetings From Alabama

First of all, I appreciate the moderators of In Lou We Trust for allowing this fan-post. Other teams were not so accommodating. Second, allow me to introduce myself as a life-long Pittsburgh Penguins fan whom resides in Alabama. Odd, hmm? Anyway, to the point.

As evidenced by the Devils shellacking of my Pens this evening with a rag-tag roster of AHL callups as compared to the blow-out earlier in the season with a full roster, my boys are in need of help... The Devils aren't out of the playoff race, but you can understand why other teams would be interested in New Jersey's available assets.

A quick glance at the Devils' roster will tell you that the Devils do not have exactly what the Penguins need - a relatively young, skilled winger to work alongside of Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin. It's been a concern all the way back to 2009 when the Penguins lost Marian Hossa, but still managed to win Lord Stanley's Cup.

Still, I'd like to present the discussion to you, the fans of the Devils, and ask what you would like in return from the Penguins in return for the two most viable options to help out the Pens - Michael Ryder or Jaromir Jagr. Jagr turned the tables tonight, and put the Devils up 2-1. Ray Shero was fired for trading to get players like Jagr. But, there might still be some Penguins fans that conjure up thoughts of Jagr and Lemieux when they think of Jagr and Crosby. Heck, we're already participating in #JagrWatch over at Pensburgh.

Can't hurt to ask, can it?
