Preseason is now over. The regular season begins on Thursday for the New Jersey Devils. Talking Red, the New Jersey Devils podcast, will help you fill that time in between. David Sarch and I had plenty to discuss. We went over the goaltenders, such as why Scott Clemmensen made it over Keith Kinkaid. We talked about the defensemen, with a focus on Damon Severson and Seth Helgeson. We detoured to talk about The Rock. David summarized the first season ticket holder event. He went into great detail as to how great it was compared to past pre-season events for season ticket holders. So, good job to ownership for that. Then we went back to the difficult decisions yet to be made: forwards. Scott Gomez, Jordin Tootoo, the CBGBs, and Jacob Josefson are all in discussion along with the general idea of what the fourth line should become given who will likely be on the roster. It's a lot to listen to, and it could all change by noon on Monday. (Aside: Pay attention to the opening from David about Jon Merrill. It may come into play.)
