Today, the New Jersey Devils will hold a "major news conference" at 11 AM at the Prudential Center according to the official team website. On Wednesday night, Tom Gulitti reported at Fire & Ice that the NHL Board of Governor's approved the sale of the New Jersey Devils to a group led by Josh Harris. Today's conference is expected to be a formal announcement as essentially the new owners of the team and the Prudential Center. Harris and his group will own a controlling share, Jeff Vanderbeek will still remain as a minority shareholder, and the team's finances should be in order for now. So unless something shocking happens, this is what it'll likely be about.
Since the conference will happen at 11 AM, I've made this an open post so you can comment as it's happening live. You can also use the comments to discuss ownership-like topics like why you think Josh Harris and his group bought the Devils, what did Josh Harris and other members of his group said, who will take what role in the organization, when will the Devils' offseason be "done" for the most part, and where will Josh Kosman find a new target for his precious "sources close to the situation," presuming he's not going to write about the sky falling on Vanderbeek's head among other topics.
You can also relive those great moments from when the NHL owned the team. Oh, wait, that didn't happen. Scratch that one.
Anyway, please follow the rules and remember to link to reporters to give them credit for actually reporting things. After it's over, feel free to discuss whatever it is as long as it's related to the Devils. Enjoy the conference and your day.
