New Jersey Devils at Philadelphia Flyers: Gamethread #15

The New Jersey Devils and the Philadelphia Flyers will play a game of hockey this evening and someone has to win it. This is a gamestream where users can discuss the game as it happens until the recap is up.

The Time: 7:00 PM EST

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Radio - 660 AM & 101.9 FM WFAN

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (3-7-4) at the Philadelphia Flyers (4-9-1; SBN Blog: Broad Street Hockey)

The Previews: My preview from earlier this morning is here. For the opposition's perspective, Travis Hughes has no expectations per his preview at Broad Street Hockey.

Songs for Tonight: Two crummy teams fighting to avoid last? Here's a not exactly happy song by No Means No called "Give Me The Push" from the 1998 album Dance of the Headless Bourgeoise. At least it's upbeat, I could've chosen some real downers here.

Game Night Info: Over at's Broad Street Bull blog, Sam Carchidi reported today that Ray Emery is expected to start tonight's game for the Flyers. That and Steve Downie is getting closer to return from injury. Speaking of injuries, Travis Zajac, Anton Volchenkov, and Peter Harrold will return to the lineup as confirmed earlier today by Tom Gulitti at Fire & Ice. The called up Cam Janssen will also play; the scratches will be Jacob Josefson and Mark Fayne. So Eric Gelinas gets to play again. Gulitti also noted that Patrik Elias was placed on IR retroactive to October 30 to clear enough space for Harrold to return.

The Reminder of Rules: This is a place where you can (and should) comment about this game before, during, and after it's played, until the recap is up. This is a place where we primarily discuss the Devils game. An odd mention of other NHL games is OK, but it shouldn't dominate discussion. All comments will be clean, respectful of each other, relevant to the game, and legal (read: no streams). Please refrain from super-big pictures and/or .GIFs to keep the gamethread moving for everyone. Go Devils. Please?
