A Song for Tonight: The Devils could follow a better way tonight. Incidentally, here's a song called that by Turnstile.
Gamenight Information: Those clamoring for Mark Fayne to get in the lineup will get what they want. Well, perhaps not, because he will be replacing Adam Larsson's spot in the lineup. Tom Gulitti confirmed at Fire & Ice that the changes in the lineup - other than the goalies - will be Fayne in for Larsson and Rostislav Olesz in for Ryan Carter. Do I think this is the right move on defense? No. Do I think the Devils would've been better off sitting Anton Volchenkov for a more mobile and effective Fayne? Yes. Did Larsson play a bad game last night? No. If this move was made for last night's game, would I understand it better? A bit, yes. Do I think this will solve all of the issues? Nope. Do I mind the forward switch? Not really.
Honestly, if this is a doghouse for Larsson/Fayne, then it's the strangest one since whoever's in gets to play significant minutes against significant competition with Andy Greene. Why DeBoer is so set on keeping Bryce Salvador & Marek Zidlicky and Volchenkov & Peter Harrold, I couldn't tell you. I suspect you have your own opinions regardless.
