New Jersey Devils at Edmonton Oilers: Gamethread #3

The New Jersey Devils begin their five-game road trip through Canada tonight against the Edmonton Oilers. Stay up if you can and discuss tonight's game here in this gamethread.

The Time: 9:30 PM EDT

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Radio - 660 AM / 101.9 FM WFAN

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (0-1-1) at the Edmonton Oilers (0-2-0; SBN Blog: The Copper & Blue)

The Previews: My preview for tonight's game went up this morning and it's right here. For the opposition's perspective, Derek Zona has this short preview at the Copper & Blue plus expected lines.

A Song for Tonight: "Where's My Legs?" - A song by SNFU and a question I hope the Devils players won't be asking themselves during tonight's game.

Gamenight Information: As expected and confirmed by Tom Gulitti at Fire & Ice, the Devils will go with the same line up that started the Islanders game. If (or when) Jaromir Jagr struggles to keep up yet again, then don't be surprised if Damien Brunner gets pushed up to play with Patrik Elias. Curiously, Gulitti noted that Ryan Smyth will be a healthy scratch for the Oilers. I don't know why Edmonton would do that, but OK. According to the preview Oilers' official website, Ryan Hamilton will be in the lineup instead. The lines at this morning's skate according to the Oilers' official blog had Hamilton lined up with Nail Yakupov and Mark Arcobello. Apparently Jesse Joensuu didn't skate this morning. Perhaps he'll be out as well? We'll see.

The Reminder of Rules: This is a place where you can comment about this game before, during, and after it's played before the recap is up. This is a place where we primarily discuss the Devils game. An odd mention of other NHL games is OK, but it shouldn't dominate discussion. All comments will be clean, respectful of each other, relevant to the game, and legal (read: no illegal streams, don't ask for/tell about one). Please refrain from posting large pictures and .gifs as well so the thread doesn't get too bogged down. This will be open until a recap of this game is up later tonight.

Go Devils!
