New Jersey Devils Podcast Talking Red: Episode 86 - One Week Into the Lockout

The NHL lockout continues, and so does the New Jersey Devils podcast Talking Red. Both David and I were elsewhere, so E.J. Fagan graciously returned as host and In Lou We Trust writer Matt Evans fills in my usual spot as the guest on this week's episode. In their section, they discuss which Devils players have gone to Europe and speculate who else may be going overseas to play. They also guess how long this lockout will last and openly question at what point should the whole season be canceled.

Earlier in this past week, David had the opportunity to interview Shawn Mullin, who does play-by-play for the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League. There are two Devils prospects on the Broncos: defenseman Reece Scarlett and center Graham Black. In this interview, Mullin explains the situation Scarlett was thrown into when he joined the Broncos and why that has made him an intriguing prospect as well as what happened with Black. I learned more than I knew about both prospects from this interview, and you will too.

Thanks to E.J. for hosting this week's show, Matt for filling in my spot, David for the interview, and most of all Shawn Mullin for his time and information on Scarlett, Black, and Swift Current. You can follow Mullin's own blog about Swift Current as well as the man himself on Twitter. As usual, there are several ways to listen to this episode of Talking Red. You can go find the show at iTunes or Stitcher. You can also get it directly at the TR website. You can even continue on after the jump of this post to listen to a stream of it. Either way, the show is 45:17 long and 20.73 MB large.
