The Time: 7:00 PM EDT
The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Radio - 660 AM WFAN
The Game: The New Jersey Devils (36-24-5) vs. the New York Rangers (42-15-7)
The Previews: My preview from much, much earlier this morning is right here. For the opposition's point of view, please visit Blueshirt Banter.
A Song for Tonight: It's about to get heavy tonight. New Jerseyans know all about that as the hardcore scene has been rather active for the last two decades or so. Here's a blast from one of those hardcore groups that has kept things going in the late-1990s. This is "Survival" by NJ Bloodline.
Gameday Info: I got it wrong in my preview, the Rangers aren't entirely healthy. Defenseman Michael Sauer suffered a concussion and Ryan Callahan is recovering from a bruised foot. According to Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants, Sauer's definitely out tonight but Callahan will definitely try out his foot and take part in lineups. Gross thinks Callahan is likely to return, so we'll see. Gross also reported that Steve Eminger will play on defense while Jeff Woywitka and Anton Stralman will be scratched. As for the Devils, Tom Gulitti reported this afternoon that Andy Greene will skate in warm-ups in the hopes that his back will hold up. If so, then he'll play. If not, then expect Matt Taormina to play. Gulitti also reported that Alexei Ponikarovsky has a minor MCL sprain so he will not play tonight. Lastly, the Devils official website announced that the team will wear their 1980s uniforms on March 17 against the Penguins.
As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times. Namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic (read: don't snipe at each other - there's a game to discuss), and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). I'll provide the occasional comment here as well as a tweet here and there at @InLouWeTrust. Go Devils!
