New Jersey Devils vs. Chicago Blackhawks - Gamethread #77

The Time: 7:00 PM EDT

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Radio - 660 AM

The Game: The New Jersey Devils (42-28-6) vs. the Chicago Blackhawks (42-26-8)

The Previews: My preview from much earlier this morning is right here; please go check it out if you haven't done so already. For the opposition's perspective, Killion has this preview at Second City Hockey.

A Song for Tonight: Chicago's known for being one of the groundswells of house music in the mid to late 1980s. New Jersey (and NYC) definitely had its own scene similar to house, sometimes called garage since a lot of it was based out of Paradise Garage club. In any case, the three original members of Blaze had a one-release side project called Exit in 1987. That release was called "Let's Work It Out" and it was really good (note: this is the Performance Mix. Other mixes abound online).

Gameday Info: Peter Harrold was called up yesterday and he will play tonight. Tom Gulitti reported earlier this afternoon at Fire & Ice that Anton Volchenkov will miss another game and Adam Larsson will be a healthy scratch. Larsson has had a rough time of it since his injury; a benching surely will send a message. Matt Taormina and Harrold will likely make up the third pairing as the other four veteran defensemen will carry the load. Let's hope Taormina and Harrold sees as little of Chicago's top players as possible. Ben Meyer-Abbot of the Chicago Sun-Times tweeted that Steve Montador will return to the Chicago lineup tonight and that they'll dress seven defensemen.

Please use the comments in this post to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times. Namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic, and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). I'll provide the occasional comment here as well as a tweet here and there at @InLouWeTrust. Go Devils!
