New Jersey Devils at Boston Bruins - Gamethread #63

New, comments

The Time: 7:00 PM EDT

The Broadcast: TV - MSG PLUS, NESN; Radio - 660 AM WFAN

The Game: The New Jersey Devils (35-23-4) vs. the Boston Bruins (37-21-3)

The Previews: Matt Evans did the preview for today's game this morning right here. Please check it out if you haven't done so already. For an opposition's perspective, please check out Stanley Cup of Chowder.

The New SBN Videos: SBNation now and will have original videos up on their Youtube page. Some rough language and interesting ideas lie ahead, but do check it out and subscribe if you like it and/or want to see what becomes of it. As far as I know, there's nothing hockey specific, but that may be coming in the future.

Le Gros Bill: Montreal Canadien and hockey legend Jean Beliveau suffered a stroke earlier in the week. The good news, as reported by Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette, is that he's making great progress in his recovery. all the same, please leave your comments and well wishes at this post at Habs Eyes on the Prize if you so desire.

A Song for Tonight: Blaze was a house/garage music group out of New Jersey that put out quite a few danceable hits over the years. Some have referred to their music as "Soulful house" or "Gospel house" given the soul elements in their music. Some called them "house-pop" due to their accessibility. Whatever you call it, it's good stuff. Here's one of their songs from 1990: "So Special." Remember: everybody is somebody.

Gameday Info: Let's do Boston first. According to Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe, Greg Zanon will make his Bruins debut and Brian Rolston will play. Mike Mottau will not. Sorry, Mottau fans. Also: Johnny Boychuk is still recovering from a concussion. As for our favorite team, Tom Gulitti reported a shift on defense. The change is that Adam Larsson will be paired with Bryce Salvador while Marek Zidlicky will play with Anton Volchenkov. Let's see if that lasts along with the forward line changes Peter DeBoer put together in Wednesday's practice.

As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times. Namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic (read: don't snipe at each other - there's a game to discuss), and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). I'll provide the occasional comment here as well as a tweet here and there at @InLouWeTrust. Go Devils!
