Stefan Matteau- I got a chance to watch Matteau play last Wednesday against the Drummondville Voltigeurs. His physical game is very good, as he won a lot of battles on the boards and did work in front of the net during the Armada PP. He also beat up the Volts' captain as well. He also plays a very well rounded game- he looked decent defensively. Considering that the Armada didn't have a great game and the Volts cashed in on a 37 save performance from Louis-Phillip Guindon, I'd have to say i'm happy with what I saw.

Individual Notes
Reid Boucher- Boucher's cooled down a bit after his awesome November, only putting up one goal. Regardless, he's still up near the top of the OHL's goal scoring race. With Alex Galchenyuk going to Ufa to play for the States at the WJC, Boucher has a chance to shine. However, it might be a bit tougher to score goals without someone as good as Galchenyuk around.
Ben Johnson- Johnson's starting to find his groove recently- he scored a pair of goals this week and has 3 goals in his last 5 games. Progress!
Ben Thomson- Thomson scored two goals this week, but wasn't able to help Kitchener win any games this week. With the world juniors coming up Thomson should probably benefit from playing against weaker competition.

Graham Black- With an assist over four games, Graham Black had a rather lackluster week.
Reece Scarlett- There's some good news and bad news regarding Reece Scarlett. The good news- he's scoring at a point-per-game pace during December. The bad news- he got injured last Wednesday against Kelowna. Scarlett hasn't played since he got hurt, which isn't good news.
Damon Severson- Severson had a 3 point night Saturday against Prince George. He's starting to find his offensive game recently, which is good.

Individual Notes
Alexander Kerfoot- Kerfoot is still inactive. I asked Todd Cordell, who's always reliable when it comes to news about Kerfoot's absence and all he could tell me was that he's suspecting it's an injury. Of course, seeing as the team still hasn't said anything, it makes sense.

Devils Junior Prospect of the Week- Damon Severson
His three point night sealed the deal for him, mainly because he outscored all the other Canadian Junior prospects this week in only one game.
