Jon Merrill:
Merrill is still out, now on his seventh week of recovery. According to Coach Berenson, Merrill isn't healing up as quickly as they expected. He is expected to miss a few more months, if not the entire season. This is extremely bad news for the Wolverines and his development.

Blake Coleman:
Miami University had the weekend off. They face Alaska this weekend.

Curtis Gedig:
Gedig got an assist this weekend - his second point of the season while Ohio State went 1-1 against Lake Superior.
The Buckeye's loss on Saturday ended a three game winning streak.

In the CCHA, Miami held on to the number one spot despite being off. Ohio State ranks fourth and the troubled University of Michigan comes in at eighth - they are missing Merrill more each week.

Blake Pietila:
Pietila and the Huskies were off last weekend - hopefully the rest will help the team. They are currently on a two game winning streak, but this is following a five game losing streak. They face Minnesota Deluth, ranked tenth in the WCHA this weekend and they need to get a few more wins.

Derek Rodwell:
Rodwell had another quiet weekend for UND - he has yet to make a splash. The team went 1-1 against Notre Dame.
Rodwell hasn't scored a point this season. This is a very disappointing comeback from injury for the junior.

Seth Helgeson:
The University of Minnesota had a great outing against Vermont. They went 2-0 with Helgeson getting an assist. He seems to be holding his own on a good Minnesota team.
A side note on Helgeson - as the lone senior on the team, he was selected to represent the Gophers as the candidate for the Senior CLASS Award given to a student athlete that excels in the four C's: Community, Classroom, Character, and Competition. The finalists for the award will be announced in February.

Joe Faust:
Joe Faust and the University of Wisconsin Badgers had a rough weekend against Minnesota State. They went 0-2 and Faust was barely noticeable getting just three shots in two games. Wisconsin fell out of the top ten in the WCHA and this week will not get any easier. They are facing the number one ranked University of Denver in Colorado.
This weekend will be a big test for the Badgers - and you can watch it! The Denver vs. Wisconsin game will be televised live on NBC Sports Network on November 30 at 10 pm ET.

In the WCHA, Minnesota holds onto the number two spot behind Denver. UND comes in at sixth, Michigan Tech has the eighth seed, and Wisconsin really struggled and fell to eleventh.

It was nice to see Helgeson get a point for the second week in a row. He isn't expected to score much, but he is a strong presence for the Gophers - he is my standout for this week.

What did you think of this weeks action? Do you think Joe Faust and Wisconsin have a chance against the number one ranked Denver? Are you going to watch the game? The next nationally televised college game featuring a Devils prospect won't be until February (feels like the regular season, right?), so watch while you can!
Feel free to discuss this weeks action and ask any questions about the guys. Thanks for reading!
