A Song for Tonight: Marc Rizzo is from Clifton, NJ and has made his mark in the world of metal with Ill Niño, Soulfly, and Cavalera Conspiracy. He's certainly an incredibly talented guitarist and he's shown off his gifts in his solo releases. If you love shredding, solos, and/or just great guitar work in general, then you should check it out. Here's an example: ""Isoceles" from his second release Colossal Myopia.
Gameday Info: Tom Gulitti reported this morning that Nick Palmieri was called up from Albany and that Anton Volchenkov has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to December 31. Placing Volchenkov on IR makes the roster spot available for Palmieri. I would think that Palmieri wasn't called up just to be a spare player; but we'll see as it gets closer to game time. Update: Per this pre-game post by Gulitti, Palmieri as well as Mattias Tedenby will play tonight. Cam Janssen will be scratched (yes) and either Ryan Carter or Tim Sestito will be the other scratch. That later decision will be determined during warmups, I personally hope it's Sestito.
Jordan Staal definitely won't play tonight. Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that he's definitely out with a left knee injury and that Pascal Dupuis will move to the center position to fill in the gap. Staal's injury adds to a list that was getting shorter given that Zybnek Michalek, Richard Park, Dupuis and Paul Martin returned to action against the Rangers on Friday, as Anderson noted in this article.
As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times. Namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic, and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). Go Devils!
