A Song for Tonight: In terms of New Jersey musical scenes, hardcore has been rather vibrant since it's inception in the early 1980s. Turning Point came out of that late 80s, early 90s time where such bands would experiment with new ideas. This straight edge band took elements of early emo with introspective lyrics and more complex sounds. It wasn't at all like the emo-core that blew up in the last decade and it's rather good. From their complete discography Turning Point 1988-1991, here's a good example as any of this kind of sound: "Broken."
Gameday Info: The Devils will take on a very strong team without Anton Volchenkov and Travis Zajac according to this morning's post by Tom Gulitti. Volchenkov's leg still needs rest and Zajac has unsurprising soreness in his Achilles. It's certainly better for the long term for those two to get rest. In the short term, Matt Taormina will be on the blueline again, be prepared to see Kurtis Foster play 20-ish minutes, Ryan Carter center the third line again, and a relentless source of energy will pivot the useless duo of Eric Boulton and Cam Janssen. All against Boston. Over at Boston.com's Bruins Blog, Kevin Paul Dupont has this preview with Boston's expected lineup. Goodness that's a powerful group. Expected starting goaltenders are Martin Brodeur and Tim Thomas.
As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss tonight''s game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times. Namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic (the two teams in this game), and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). Go Devils!
