New Jersey Devils vs. Winnipeg Jets - Gamethread #45

The Time: 7:00 PM EDT

The Broadcast: TV - MSG; Radio - 660 AM WFAN

The Game: The New Jersey Devils (25-17-2) vs. the Winnipeg Jets (21-19-5)

The Previews: My preview from way earlier this morning is right here. For the opposition's perspective, canadian texan has this preview over at Arctic Ice Hockey.

A Song for Tonight: Tom, possibly sarcastically, suggested some E-Town Concrete. Sure. Here's "Battle Lines" from The Renaissance. I couldn't tell you why that's the title of the album.

Gameday Info: I guessed wrong in my preview, Chris Mason will get the start tonight. Per acasser in the comments of the preview, Brian Munz of TSN reports that Mason will start back-to-back after shutting out the Senators last night. Also: since the Jets are playing the same lineup, that means Blake Wheeler won't play tonight. Speaking of players who won't play tonight, Adam Henrique will be held out of tonight's game as reported by Rich Chere this morning. While he's improving, the team is taking a cautious approach with the rookie. Expect David Clarkson to play with Patrik Elias and Petr Sykora; while Dainius Zubrus takes Henrique's spot in between Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk.

Two Devils will return to the New Jersey lineup tonight. According to this report by Chere, Jacob Josefson will play in between Ryan Carter and Mattias Tedenby; and Brad Mills will be at right wing on the fourth line with Eric Boulton and Steve Zalewski. I'm curious as to how Josefson will perform in his first NHL game since breaking his clavicle in October. As for Mills, he has to be better than Cam Janssen, right?

As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times. Namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic, and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). Go Devils!
