After the jump you will find statistical updates on Devils prospects from the Canadian Junior Leagues and stats for some of the top 2011 Draft Prospects.
Well he almost did it. Despite being peppered with 43 shots against per game taking 2 games into double overtime and putting up a stellar .930 save percentage Maxime Clermont could not single handedly beat the Saint John Sea Dogs juggernaut. Say what you want about Clermont's up and down season but he came through in the playoffs for the Olympiques. He likely ends his QMJHL career with a MVP type performance despite being on the losing side. Congrats goes to the Sea Dogs and Devils prospect Eric Gelinas who advance to the Memorial Cup.
The Memorial Cup (a round robin tournament between the 3 Canadian Junior League Champions) begins May 19th and will include the Saint John Sea Dogs who are representing the QMJHL, the Owen Sound Attack who are representing the OHL (they also beat Scott Wedgewood's Plymouth Whalers) and the Kootenay Ice who represent the WHL.
With the Memorial Cup upon us and Eric Gelinas the only Devils prospect still playing this will be my last 'Stat Update' post until next year. I will do a Memorial Cup recap to see how Gelinas and any other prospects did during the Cup tournament.
