The Time: 7:00 PM EST
The Broadcast: TV - MSG(HD); TSN(HD) in Canada; Radio - 660 AM WFAN
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (20-30-4) at the Toronto Maple Leafs (23-26-5)
The Previews: My preview from way earlier this morning is right here. For a perspective from tonight's opponents, Chemmy has this rather short preview (and thinks a knee sprain is an upper body injury) at Pension Plan Puppets.
Gameday Info: Tom Gulitti reported this morning at Fire & Ice that Johan Hedberg will be the man both tonight and tomorrow against San Jose, while confirming Mark Fraser will be in the lineup on defense. Gulitti also tweeted earlier today that James Reimer will be starting for Toronto. For the other side, check out James Mirtle's preview of tonight's game at The Globe and Mail. Mirtle has the recently-acquired Joffrey Lupul listed on the top two forward lines, noted that Tomas Kaberle is now rocking an 'A' on his jersey, and reports that Keith Aulie called up while John Mitchell has been sent down to the AHL.
A Song for Tonight: Given that the game is in Toronto, a band from the city should be appropriate. The city is the hometown of one of the more underrated thrash metal bands of the 1980s and early 1990s: Sacrifice. In 1987, their second album, Forward to Termination was released and still remains listenable to this day. It was far better produced than their debut, and their songs became more technically sound. Check it out if you're interested in the genre beyond the "Big 4." Here's the title track leading into another song: Forward to Termination/Terror Strikes.
Please use this Gamethread to discuss what's going on in tonight's game between the Leafs and the Devils. As always, please keep your comments clean, relevant, and legal. If you want to be negative; fine, but do be rational as nobody needs any nonsense from anyone. Go Devils!
