New Jersey Devils vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - Gamethread #37

The Time: 3:00 PM EDT

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Radio - 660 AM WFAN

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (20-15-1) vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins (21-12-4)

The Previews: My preview for today's game is right here. For the opposition's point of view, the Pittsburgh Penguins' official website has this rundown of the game by Michelle Crechiolo.
The Talking Red Live Annoucement: On January 10, from 7:30 - 9 PM EDT (that's before the Calgary game), David Sarch, Ryan Lucas, and myself are going to attempt to do a live Talking Red episode. Save the date and time, come with your questions, and we may even have answers to them as they come in. I'll provide more information as we sort it out.

A Song for Today: You know, I was going through the Encyclopaedia Metallum when I realized something. Danzig's from New Jersey! I should pick a song he did! They aren't high-tempo or technical or anything to really rage to; it's simpler, slower, sludgier, and doomier. Basically, if your idea of metal is dark material based in the blues, then his work should interest you. Here's the final track from his second ablum Danzig II: Lucifuge, "Pain in the World."

Gameday Info: In Crechiolo's preview, Deryk Engelland will return to the Pittsburgh blueline after serving his suspension today. Tom Gulitti tweeted this afternoon that Ryan Carter will be back centering the fourth line; Eric Boulton will be scratched. I assume Constant Energy Source Tim Sestito will take Boulton's spot on that line. Also: Henrik Tallinder will return today; Matt Taormina will sit for him.

As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss today's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up later tonight. Please remember the rules at all times. Namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic (the two teams in this game), and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). Go Devils!
