The Time: 1:00 PM EDT
The Broadcast: TV - MSG+, CBC, RDS, NHL-Network; Radio - 660 AM WFAN
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (14-12-1) vs. the Montreal Canadiens (11-11-7)
The Previews: My preview from much earlier this morning is right here. As for the opposition's point of view, please check out Habs Eyes on the Prize closer to gametime.
A Song for Today: Let's go back to some less progressive metal. Here's "Face the Fat Reality" by Hades, who hail from Paramus. This is not from the original album If At First You Don't Succeed, but a later remaster (re-recording?) of their first two albums. It's not bad.
Gameday Info: Tom Gulitti tweeted (it may be up at Fire & Ice as you read this) that Anton Volchenkov will not play due to his hand injury. Mark Fraser will be scratched, so the Albany duo of Alexander Urbom and Matt Taormina will play this afternoon. Gulitti later tweeted that the forwards are the same except that Dainius Zubrus and Mattias Tedenby will be switched. Zubrus will play with Patrik Elias & Petr Sykora, and Tedenby will play with David Clarkson & Ryan Carter. Given there will be a Urbom-Taormina pairing, re-uniting the power line of Elias to provide some extra cover seems like a good idea to me. For Montreal, Tomas Kaberle will make his debut with the team.
I'll be back in my usual seat in Section 1; I'll try to comment and tweet (@InLouWeTrust) occasionally depending on how the battery holds up. As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss today's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up later tonight. Please remember the rules at all times, namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic (namely about the two teams in this game), and keep them legal (read: nothing about illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests). Go Devils!
