New Jersey Devils vs. Carolina Hurricanes - Gamethread #13

New, comments

The Time: 7:30 PM EDT

The Broadcast: TV - VERSUS, TSN2; Radio - 660 AM WFAN

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (6-5-1) vs. the Carolina Hurricanes (5-6-3)

The Previews: My preview from way earlier this morning is right here. For the opposition's point of view, check out this preview by Carolyn Christians at Canes Country.

Some Bad News: I assumed in my preview that Doc Emrick would be calling this game since it would be on VERSUS. That is not the case. In the end of this post by Tom Gulitti from Fire & Ice, Gulitti learned that John Forslund will be doing play-by-play. I apologize for my assumption and I am disappointed that Devils fans won't be hearing the legendary voice of Dr. Mike Emrick doing play-by-play on tonight's broadcast.

A Song for Tonight: Let's keep the bands local for a little while longer. All the way from Morris Plains, here's a band who is known for their complex musicianship and brutal sound. The band is The Dillinger Escape Plan and this is WWe Are The Storm off of Miss Machine.

Gameday Info: There's not too much new coming from the New Jersey Devils. Andy Greene, Eric Boulton, and Ilya Kovalchuk all skated this morning; but as reported by Gulitti this morning, Greene's still a gametime decision while Boulton and Kovalchuk will be out. If Greene doesn't play, then expect Mark Fraser to play his third game of the season. As for the latter, Rod Pelley and Cam Janssen will be on the fourth line. As for the Canes, Chip Alexander of the News & Observer reported earlier today that defenseman Jamie McBain will be on the blueline in place of Derek Joslin.

As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times, namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic, and keep them legal (read: no illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests for one). Go Devils!
