The Time: 9:30 PM EDT
The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Radio - 660 AM WFAN
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (12-9-1) at the Colorado Avalanche (10-13-1)
The Previews: My preview from way earlier this morning is right here. As for the opposition's point of view, David Driscoll-Carignan has this short one at Mile High Hockey.
A Requested Song for the Night: From Twitter, @kleathers requested the following song given that A) the Devils are on the road starting another four-game trip and B) they need to get past the home-and-home. The song is called "Movin' Right Along" from the original Muppet Movie. It's not bad, so it's here. Thanks, kleathers.
Note for the future: I'll take requests but I reserve the right to not use them for various reasons (song isn't clean, good, etc.)
Gameday Info: Tom Gulitti reported at Fire & Ice this afternoon that Andy Greene will not play tonight. He skated this morning, so he's not too banged up; but they're holding him out so he'll be fine for the back-to-back at the end of the week. Mark Fraser will take his spot in the lineup. Also, Gulitti reported that the Devils' fourth line will feature Tim Sestito, Cam Janssen, and the return of Eric Boulton tonight. The energy provided those three could be so large, we may need a new word for it. Like triplenergy or trintensity. Skill? Offense? Defense? Nah, man, just energy. (sigh)
The Avalanche have mixed up their lines for tonight's game per this report by Mike Chambers in the Denver Post. Daniel Winnik was moved down to the third line, Milan Hejduk will line up with Ryan O'Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog, and David Jones will play with Matt Duchene and Paul Stastny. Given that Winnik has been a possession machine, that could make the third line match-up more dicey. Good luck to the Carter line. From that same article, both Peter Mueller and Erik Johnson will not play; they will each stay on IR.
The starting goaltenders will be Martin Brodeur and Semyon Varlamov per this post by Gulitti.
As usual, you can use the comments in this post to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up later tonight. Please remember the rules at all times, namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic (namely, about the two teams in this game), and keep them legal (read: no illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests for one). Go Devils!
