New Jersey Devils vs. San Jose Sharks - Gamethread #5

The Time: 7:00 PM EST

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Radio - 660 AM WFAN

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (3-1-0) vs. the San Jose Sharks (1-3-0)

The Previews: My preview from way earlier this morning is right here. For the opposition's side, here's a preview by Mr. Plank at Fear the Fin.

A Song for Tonight: You know, I tend to post a lot of metal and you'd think that with the opposition coming from San Jose, I'd pick a Bay Area-based band. Nope. I'm going with this song by Portland-based speed metal group Wehrmacht: Shark Attack. That's the (crazy fast) original, here's their (crazy fast) re-recording of it in 2010 if you'd like to hear it with better production. Good luck figuring out what Tito is yelling without looking at a lyric sheet in either version.

Gameday Info: The Devils will not have two goons in the lineup tonight. Tom Gulitti reported at Fire & Ice this morning that Rod Pelley will replace Cam Janssen on the fourth line. Pelley will center Brad Mills and Eric Boulton. In that same post, Gulitti also confirmed it'll be Johan Hedberg against Antti Niemi in net tonight. As for the Sharks, David Pollak has the projected forward lines up at Working the Corners. Lastly, congratulations to Joe Thornton, who will be playing in his 1,000th career tonight. Let's hope it's a night to forget.

I'll be in my usual seat at the Rock, occasionally commenting and tweeting from @InLouWeTrust. You can use the comments to discuss tonight's game before, during, and after it happens until the recap is up. Please remember the rules at all times, namely: keep your comments clean, keep them on topic, and keep them legal (read: no illegal streams - no links, no discussion, no requests for one). Go Devils!
