According to Jay Grossman, the New Jersey Devils have agreed to a 1 year $1.5 million contract with goaltender Johan Hedberg. Laura Astorian from SBNation Atlanta gave me this quick scouting report on Hedberg via Twitter:

@NonAmericanHero love him. Works his [rear end] off, great locker room guy. Never heard of a work ethic like his ever. You're lucky to get him.

For those who wanted Martin Brodeur to play less, the signing of Hedberg means that the Devils have a guy who's reliable. With 20 back-to-backs, having Hedberg would definitely be a bonus, as he could play lesser opposition, and save Brodeur for the more important games.
