All - forgive my lack of knowledge, but can someone clarify for me why the Rolston situation is unresolvable?
I am guessing it must be that for players in his age category, the contracts are in essence guaranteed. And further assuming that if they do some kind of buyout, that it counts toward the cap, and so we can't afford to simply dump that much money into a guy not even on the roster
Couldn't the Devils trade him and as part of that pick up part of the contract to make it acceptable to another team. Why is forcing him to the minors not a problem - didn't they deal with Mogilny that way?
