The Time: 7:00 PM EST
The Broadcast: TV - MSG+(HD); Radio - 660 AM WFAN
The Matchup: TheNew Jersey Devils (8-19-2) vs. the Phoenix Coyotes (14-8-6)
The Previews: My preview from way earlier this morning can be found here. For the Coyotes side, Travis Hair has this preview up at Five for Howling.
Gameday Info: Brian Rolston has cleared waivers as reported today by Tom Gulitti, so he'll play tonight. This should surprise no one. After all, who would take him at his full salary? He can still play for New Jersey for up to 10 games. Sometime before the holiday roster freeze (begins this Sunday), it wouldn't surprise me if he is brought up through re-entry waivers. Jamie Langenbrunner skated today and he should be active tonight per Gulitti's report earlier today on Fire & Ice.
Congratulations: The City of Glendale has extended the lease for the Coyotes for 30 years yesterday. With a new owner coming in, the team should be safe for a while. Travis Hair has the report on the vote at Five for Howling. Congratulations to the Coyotes supporters.
Reminder - Toys for Tots Drive is Friday: So bring a toy to Friday's game and make a kid happy.
Also, for Friday, Cheap Tickets for Supporters (Experimental): Want to support the Devils in a vocal fashion? Friday is your chance. If you want to yell for 60 min in support of a team, get a seat in Section 209 for cheap and bring the thunder. Here's the link for discounted tickets for the section (use code: sec209); and here's the link to the Facebook group that put it all together. Visiting fans and killjoys need not apply. If it works out, who knows, maybe it'll become a Thing. Thanks to Joe for letting me know what's up about this effort.
A Song for Tonight: You may know them as the band that had Jason Newsted, the bass player who replaced Cliff Burton in Metallica. You should know them as a pretty good thrash metal band from the 80s, who are still making music to this very day. They are Flotsam & Jetsam and this is from their seminal second album, Doomsday for the Deceiver - "U.L.S.W."
Please use this Gamethread to discuss what's going on in this game. You can mention other NHL scores, but please keep the conversation mostly on the Devils-Coyotes game tonight. As always, please keep your comments clean, relevant, and legal. If you want to be negative; fine, but do be rational as nobody needs any nonsense from anyone. Enough people are in Stage 2 & 4 as-is. Most importantly: Let's go, Devils.
