The Time: 8:00 PM EDT
The Broadcast: TV - MSG+(HD); Radio - 660 AM WFAN
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (5-12-2) at the St. Louis Blues (10-5-3)
The Previews: My preview from the overnight can be found here. For the St. Louis side, Dan O'Neill has this brief synopsis at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch site. (hat-tip: St. Louis Game Time)
The SBN Contest: I completely forgot about this yesterday, but SB Nation is giving away a Samsung 46" 1080p 3D TV. Follow the link, follow the instructions there, and with some luck, you may be the winner - even if you support a team who hasn't done that much in 2010-11.
Gameday Info: Kevin shared this in the comments of the preview, but for those who don't know: John MacLean will have Mike McKenna start for the Devils tonight (report by Tom Gulitti). It will be his first NHL game since April 2009 and he will play in his hometown.
This is an outrageously incomprehensible move. Hedberg has been fine in net, he was signed a not-insignificant contract to be the backup, and McKenna has not done anything in Albany to justify getting a start. It's a nice story that McKenna will get to start in St. Louis, but this is pro hockey where the games count - sentimentality means nothing. Especially when the team is eating it in the standings like New Jersey has done. MacLean better hope this doesn't blow up in his face; as he actively chose to not put his best possible lineup tonight.
Regarding Martin Brodeur, Gulitti reported that his MRI was negative and that Lou says he'll be out for a maximum of 2 weeks.
A Song for Tonight: Just Go Away by Blondie - This may be more appropriate after tonight's game.
Please use this Gamethread to discuss what's going on in tonight's game. It's OK to mention other NHL scores, but keep the conversation mostly on the Devils-Blues game tonight. As always, please keep your comments clean, relevant, and legal. If you want to be negative; fine, but be rational. Most importantly: Let's Go Devils!
