The Time: 10:00 PM EDT
The Broadcast: TV - MSG+(HD); Radio - 660 AM WFAN
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (2-7-1) at the Anaheim Ducks(4-5-1)
The Previews: My preview from this morning can be found here, exhorting the Devils to play fundamentally sound hockey. Oh, and for John MacLean to win at least tonight's or tomorrow's game. Arthur at Anaheim Calling has this shorter preview, but does link to some food reviews at the Honda Center. Earl Sleek has this preview/Gamethread at Battle of California as well as suggestions on how to improve the fan experience and a drawing of a duck being pressured by a TV with a whip.
Gameday Info: As reported by Rich Chere earlier today, Jacob Josefson will be out of the lineup. He hurt his right hand from a slash in the San Jose game, but he thinks he'll be OK for Saturday night. This means Alexander Vasyunov will play and someone will be moved up to his spot (Rod Pelley, it seems from this other Chere report). Travis Zajac will play tonight, and Martin Brodeur will start tonight - and possibly tomorrow too. In other news, Matthew Corrente won't need surgery for his fractured hand and could be back relatively soon (7-10 days) according to this Chere post. As for the Ducks, Eric Stephens reported in the OC Register that Jonas Hiller is Anaheim's expected starter and Cam Fowler is a gametime decision.
Oh, and Lou may be in Anaheim tonight. Take note, Devils.
A Song to Pump You Up: From Venice it's Suicidal Tendencies and this is from their third album "How Will I Laugh Tomorrow, When I Can't Even Smile Today?": The Feeling's Back. Let's hope the Devils can say this after tonight.
Please use this Gamethread to discuss what's going on in tonight's game. It's OK to mention other NHL scores, but keep the conversation mostly on the Devils-Ducks game tonight. I'm going to attempt to do the recap after the game, so you may get the LA preview tomorrow morning or early afternoon. As always, please keep your comments clean, relevant, and legal. Most importantly: Let's Go, Devils!
