The Time: 7 PM EDT
The Broadcast: None. Seriously. Tom Gulitti shares the bad news:
There is no television, radio or on-line streaming of this game of any kind. I’ll do my best to provide details in the comments section here. That’s the fastest way to post it. I will also be posting updates on Twitter @fireandicegame.
Expect this GameThread to have very little activity in it. And the recap to be very short.
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (2-0-3) vs. the New York Islanders (0-3-0)
The Previews: Tom's preview is here. Go read it if you haven't. Speaking of previews, the Season Preview by the ILWT writers is still available. Go read that if you haven't either. It's not like you'll be watching the Devils play anyway.
The Lineups: In lieu of gameday information, here's the lineups from Tom Gulitti for both teams. It's a lot like last night's lineup with a few changes. Here they are: Johan Hedberg will be in net. Anton Volchenkov and Mark Fraser replace Colin White and Matthew Corrente on defense. At forward, Dainius Zubrus replaces Brian Rolston; David Clarkson replaces Jamie Langenbrunner; and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond replaces the now-Albany-bound Nick Palmieri. It appears most of the youngsters and on-the-cusp players for the Isles are in Quebec City for the Montreal game tonight. Yes, the Islanders are also playing the Canadiens. It's a split-squad date for them, and the Devils draw the stronger half.
Please leave whatever thoughts you have on tonight's game. Do keep them on the Devils game itself, I don't want to see this turned into a rant-fest against the Devils or MSG or whoever. If it means this is barren, then it's barren. Keep comments clean, legal, and relevant. Go Devils - we can't see or hear you, but we support you somehow.
