Here's what's up on the Devils side according to Gulitti: Brendan Shanahan will play, Jay Pandolfo will sit for Shanahan, Johnny Oduya will play, Anssi Salmela will play, but Bryce Salvador is questionable by way of being ill. If Salvador is ready to go, then expect Jay Leach to sit.
Chere reports the same, but also mentions that Paul Martin will not only be not playing tonight but not likely against the Islanders. I guess the muscle pull isn't so minor. Hopefully, the four day break after the Islanders game will give him the time to heal for Thursday, February 26 against Colorado.
Chere also has this fun fact: the Devils have yet to lose two road games in a row this season. Hopefully, the Devils can keep on doing that with a win tonight.
For the Lightning, Damian Cristodero of the St. Petersburg Times has this update at Lightning Strikes. Karri Ramo will start; Paul Ranger may be done for the season; Gary Roberts and David Koci won't play; and Evgeny Artuhkin will. Erik Erlendsson of Bolts Report reports the same, but also adds that Marek Malik will also not be on the blueline. A banged up defense even further hurt? I hope the Devils forwards take advantage!
