Games of Note
The Devils will kick off the preseason at home against Washington on September 18th. These two teams did not play each other during preseason last year. They last matched up back on March 2nd, in a 1-0 Devils loss in Washington.
Take note: this is one of only two home games the Devils will play this preseason. They spent three at home and five on the road last year, including a split-squad night versus Philly at home and against Montreal in Canada.
Speaking of split-squads, the Devils will take part in a split-squad matchup on September 25th. One set of Devils skaters will take the ice against the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, while another lineup will face off against the Ottawa Senators in O’Leary, Prince Edward Island. The hockey community of O’Leary won this year’s Kraft Hockeyville competition, so they will be hosting this preseason game. This will be the Devils’ first ever Kraft Hockeyville appearance.
